When this kettle arrived, I decided to play the skeptic and put to check it. Would it really hit one hundred fortyF on the dot? Just somewhat above/below? A lot?
After a brief brew time, *two* different thermometers (one analog, one digital) agreed with the kettle: one hundred forty.0F on the dot!
This is one excellently designed variable-temperature kettle! This kettle has now led to extra casual tea ingesting. No extra do I have to watch a range or electrical kettle like a hawk and prevent it at the proper temperature!
Temperatures are programmable in 10F increments from 110F (warm on the wrist) to 212F (boiling). I prefer to make tea with 140F (a bit over scalding) as I use plenty of Japanese green tea that is temperature-sensitive. And I love how it can also be programmed to maintain the identical temperature constantly (or now not, as you please).
I most effective have 2 snags with this kettle:
- At the temperatures I like, increments in 5, 2 or 1 level make better sense than 10 level increments.
- When taking the kettle off its base, it resets its temperature defaults to 212 (boiling). I'd prefer that it robotically kept my preferences whereas I'm pouring the occasional cup right through the day. But that is simply me. Turning it to the most well liked temp once more is only some thumb-wiggles away (which makes the 10-degree increments a stability of convenience).

Don't make the identical mistake. Yes it seems good and it boils water but the thermostat will no longer be calibrated accurately and it isn't delicate sufficient. It every so often takes up to 40 seconds to switch off after it has boiled even supposing it is set for the minimum time. This means you both have steamed up partitions or it's important to watch whereas it boils and switch off manually. Not impressed
Now three weeks later the complete lid assembley has fallen apart. This kettle is very cheaply made. I am stunned that Jura, one in each of Switzerlands prime companies in this box, is ready to put their name on such an inferior product.
To convey the story of woe up to the moment it is now july 31st and we're having a look at our 2d damaged kettle. Capresso replaced the first one without a hassle.

I truly want a timer or alert would go off when the precise temperature is reached. But I do use it everyday and it heats up water fast.
